For several years I read dozens and dozens and dozens of picture books, board books, early readers, chapter books, novels, graphic novels, and listened to numerous audiobooks. I did this because I love to read literature for children and young adults, but also because my job was to recommend books to kids. And…I loved recommending series where I could tell the student that if they liked the first book there were 3 more after it. Or if it was a standalone book, I tried to know read-alikes so I could do the same thing. “If you like this one, you’re going to like this one and this one and this one too!”
I’m no longer working in a capacity to recommend books to students, but I don’t want to forget all of those great books I read and listened to! Hence, this blog. The entries will be books I read in the past and books I read this week.
