In Book 8 of Robert Patterson’s Middle School series, Rafe starts a dog walking business. What could possibly go wrong?

Good old Rafe. He does his best to be a kid who helps his mom and family when he can. Rafe wants a new game system. Which is expensive, and he knows his mom’s job at the diner isn’t going to pay for it. Then he learns his Grandma is getting free meals at a community center and he has a truly heartfelt moment where he starts to understand the value of the money he is earning.

Unfortunately, Rafe’s bustling new dog-walking business has competition from the twins in the neighborhood. They’re undercutting his prices and generally not being good business allies. Rafe even finds himself enlisting Georgia for help.

Excellent narration for this Middle School novel, as with the other Middle School novels. The narrator’s voice is crisp and easy to listen to. The story moves fast and is easy to recall between sessions. Rafe is a sympathetic character that the whole family can listen to and root for.
