I strongly prefer the Bastien method when teaching kids who are new piano students, and have never studied piano. I like how the lessons flow, and the order that concepts are taught. I’ve had excellent success with students from age 5-15 using this method.
I’m including links for Amazon and Sheet Music Plus. It’s completely up to you as to where you ultimately purchase the books. The primer and theory books are required by the first lesson. The performance and technic books will be used once after several weeks of lessons.
