World Letter Writing Day — Celebrate with Pen Palz

Sept 1World Letter Writing Day

World Letter Writing Day is September 1! Are you ready to send a letter to a friend? You can deliver it in person, send electronically, or send through the original postal service. After all, everyone loves to receive mail.

According to https://nationaltoday.com/world-letter-writing-day/, World Letter Writing Day was founded in 2014 by Australian author and photographer Richard Simpkin. He founded the day to celebrate handwritten letters, but really, I’m sure anyone would appreciate any type of personal message they receive from you!

In the 17th and 18th century people wrote letters that are now used to understand history. They are considered a type of literature! After stamps became widely available, people began using letters for personal messages and staying in touch. The first UK postage stamp was invented in 1840.

How can you celebrate World Letter Writing Day? Well, start by writing a letter! Write to relatives, friends who are close by, friends who are far away. Maybe even write to your former teachers or mentors and let them know how they made a difference.

Even consider general writing letters to nursing home residents that can be distributed by staff. There are so many options!

Do you have kids? Never too early or late to teach them how to write a letter.

Check out Pen Palz Forever. Their products make it incredibly fun to stay in touch with others. Using kawaii stickers and stationary, kids can enjoy staying away from screens and reaching out to their loved ones. Stay creative with Pen Palz!
