International Day of Charity on September 5 started worldwide in 2012 after the UN declared it an international holiday. It honors the tireless work of Mother Teresa, and provides a platform for other types of charitable work and donations. They chose September 5, the anniversary of her death, to commemorate her life with their civil service initiative.” Charity can be used to alleviate human suffering through financial donations or through good works. How can you celebrate the International Day of Charity? You can donate funds to vetted charities, or volunteer your time. You can even look out for new causes that you are interested in and believe in to support. You can also use this date to spread awareness of causes that are near and dear to your heart.
