International Dot Day was inspired by the book by Peter Reynolds, aptly titled, The Dot. In this fantastic picture book, excellent for reading to groups of all ages, Vashti does not believe she can draw. Her teacher encourages her to draw a dot. And SIGN IT. By signing the dot, it becomes her own.
The book was originally published in 2003 by Candlewick Press. It has been translated into over 20 languages so children and adults the world over can enjoy this work.
