International Sudoku Day is celebrated on September 9 yearly (9/9, a date that Sudoku enthusiasts will surely see significance in). While Japan’s puzzle enthusiasts named Sudoku, and made it into an international sensation, it is believed to have been invented by an American, in 1979. In 1997 Sudoku was developed into a computer game. The World Puzzle Federation created International Sudoku Day in 2013, and it’s celebrated yearly.
